For Michelle, like for Walker Evans, writing and photography go hand-in-hand. Both disciplines force the creator to observe the world from different perspectives and notice subtle things that could easily be overlooked. The way a shaft of light illuminates a carved angel in a church ceiling while all around it is in darkness. The way a good liar hides the tells that would expose her lie.  The way a shot sounds when fired through a silencer. The way grass catches the dawn’s dew and refracts the day’s first light.

Without photographers and writers to bring those elements into focus for others, humanity might miss minute details of the human experience.
